In order to help our students experience a smooth transition to the middle school, the first day of school, Sept. 16^th, will be an orientation.  Students will attend on the following schedule:

• 5^th grade 8:00-10:35 AM
• 6^th grade 12:00-2:35 PM

Buses will run on regular routes during this time.  Parents are asked to please call the bus garage to set up their child’s route for the school year.

This modified schedule will allow students to learn the OMS expectations in a smaller and more relaxed setting.  Students will spend orientation with their advisory teacher.  During their session we will offer either breakfast (during the morning session) or lunch (during the afternoon session) as part of our orientation. The cafeteria staff
will be serving food for students who want to eat school breakfast or lunch, or students may bring their own food.

This modified schedule will provide students the opportunity to  get to know the building and staff by having half of the student body present with all staff in order to provide extra support.

The second day of school, Sept. 17^th, will be a regular school day for all students: 8:00 AM - 2:35 PM.
