Good afternoon Olympic families and staff!
What a wet and soggy weekend. We had a great week last week! Our 6th grade students have the highest percentage of attendance, with a team competition happening soon. Our ASB leadership and team reps did an outstanding job at our MLK assemblies. On Friday, our band students participated in a performance during the SHS basketball game. They represented OMS and performed very well!
I hope all our families received information about the change to our school calendar. If not: SSD will be making up the missed half day and school day by having a half day on 2/9 and extended the last day of school by 1 day to Friday, June 14th. I am hoping we have no more snow days this year!
Intramurals:
- Girl’s Basketball will practice M, T, Th and F this week with their 1st game of the season scheduled for 2/6. Coach Satori sent a message to families through Final Forms on Friday with more information.
- Boys’ Soccer will practice M, T, Th and F this week.
Our ASB leadership students will be hosting a fundraiser from 2/1-2/12: ASB students will be presenting to homeroom classes this week and students will be bringing home a flyer with information on how to order/send a candy gram. Candygrams are $1 each and will be delivered to students on 2/13. Our ASB appreciates your support!
This Wednesday, January 31st, we are hosting a literacy event, “Lemonade and Libraries”. The event starts at 5:30 in the commons with a quick presentation from Mr. Kraft and I. We will have some of our ELA classroom’s open so your student can share with you the work they do in ELA, as well as our classroom libraries. Student work will also be available for your student to share with you! We hope you are able to attend!
Not to brag...but our students are doing a wonderful job being Excellent Eagles. We are so lucky to have such amazing students!
Let’s have a wonderful week at Olympic!
